Our Story
Kuruma Furniture is a local company based in Longmont Colorado. Our goal is to create unique, customized furniture, while being sustainable by using broken or damaged engines. Our unique customized lighting sets us apart. Each table comes equipped with in house programmed lighting to simulate engine operation, lighting up in blue for the intake stroke, transitioning from blue to red for compression, and full red for combustion. The light then remains off during the exhaust stroke. The speed of the engine operation can be controlled by the user. In addition to firing order lights, each table can change to a solid color mode, with the user being able to vary the color displayed. While engine block coffee tables are our specialty, we also make a variety of other pieces from chairs to wine racks.
In Stock Materials
We usually have several engines in stock, ready to be built into tables. For in stock engine requests, we can usually begin building within a month, and complete the table within 2 months. It is usually easy to source requested engine brands, but specific engines usually take longer to source and will result in a longer build time.
New Ideas
Each table comes with it's unique set of challenges to make into a table. We are constantly trying to use new materials and create new pieces of furniture. If you would like something specific or have an idea, feel free to reach out to us and we can discuss it further.
